Partnership With Hilton Garden Inn Norwalk

We are so excited to have partnered with the Hilton Garden Inn of Norwalk, CT. Since they can't accept dogs into their guest rooms, we're doing it for them! Travelers coming to Norwalk, CT no longer have to leave their pets at home when staying at the Hilton Garden Inn. They can sign up for the Best Friend Pet Package and we'll take care of their furry family members. And it's super convenient since we are just two doors down from the hotel!

Holiday Care Packages for Military Canine Teams

Back in October of this year we delivered a van full of supplies to Animal Control Officer Mark Rudewicz, for the Heroes and Hounds program. Heroes & Hounds is a program he founded to help the military dogs and their handlers, overseas. He started collecting donations and putting together care packages for these teams about four years ago.

13th Annual Angel Tree to Support Homeless Pets

Every year at each of our locations, we have an Animal Angel Tree program that collects donations for shelter and rescue groups until the end of the year. Actually, since it began in December 2000, the Best Friends Pet Care Angel Tree campaign has provided hundreds of thousands of dollars’ worth of food, toys and pet care products to more than 100 different shelters and rescues across the U.S. -- and dozens of pets have found new homes in time for the new year.

Turn Back the Clocks, but Don’t Cut Back on Exercise

When we turn back the clocks, it can be tempting to turn down the outdoor time with our pets. Shorter days and cooler weather make being outdoors less appealing. But, cutting back on outdoor exercise time can be a problem for our pets – especially for high-energy dogs in need of lots of active play.
